
Artists aren't just artists anymore - artist meaning actors, singers,
a.k.a "A-Listers". They're models, they're spokespeople for beauty and fashion companies, and they bring much needed press to runway shows.
Take Mercedes Benz's Fashion Week in L.A. , for instance. Let's face it, many people go not to check out the latest fashion, they just hope to get a glimpse of a celebrity. Celebrities make for good press and designers like to take advantage of that. Thus, designers hope to get these A-Listers in the front rows of their shows by offering incentives such as free shopping sprees and red carpet treatment. Ah, the good life....
If you were a designer, what celebrity would you pick as your "model"? I would probably choose Angelina Jolie. She's not your typical celebrity. Not only is she beautiful, but she's very involved in world affairs. That's what I like most about her.
