
Fashion designer, Oleg Cassini passed away at Long Island due to a
broken blood vessel in his head.
Cassini was born in Paris and came to the United States in 1936. He held jobs in New York before going to Hollywood and becoming a costume designer. Natalie Wood, Grace Kelley, Marilyn Monroe, and Gene Tierney wore many of Cassini's designs.
Oleg Cassini made Jacqueline Kennedy one of the most fashionable first ladies of the White House. Cassini was hired shortly after John Kennedy was elected. He reportedly produced about 300 outfits for Jacqueline Kennedy during the Kennedy administration. He also wrote a book called "A Thousand Days of Magic, Dressing Jacqueline Kennedy for the White House".
