Looks like there is some rivalry going on with the fashion weeks scheduled in India this spring. A news report from NDTV.com says that the The Fashion Design Council Of India (FDCI) faces allegations of restricting designers from participating in India Fashion Week if the designers should show in the Lakme Fashion Week. The FDCI refused to comment on the issue.
"It is the only fashion week that the country has and I choose to participate in India's only fashion week and not any other fashion carnival," said fashion designer Rohit Gandhi to The Hindu, India's national newspaper.
I say, what's the big deal? I know they're not in the U.S. where people are free to participate in any show they please - but, come on!
