
According to Standard & Poor's Marketscope, luxury retailers such as Coach, Nike, and Ralph Lauren are setting their sights on Asia to market their goods. As the population and economies grow in countries such as China and Japan, so does the affordability of high end consumer goods. Asia contributes about 25% of luxury sales worldwide while Japan accounts for about 40% of that market.
Opportunities for growth in these countries abound for select U.S. companies. The Quiksilver brand is another company that is expected to grow in these countries due to the widespread popularity of skateboarding and snowboarding.
As for me, I would love to see Asian companies setting up shop here in the U.S.! I personally like a good mix...
