I read an article at MiamiHerald.com that said more and more high fashion and luxury stores are selling designer goods at their websites and that they have prospered because of it. I also learned that the sales of luxury goods rose 28% last year from the previous year. Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom recently added top designer names to their websites.
However, big names like Hermes, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton still refuse to sell their designs on department store websites. They're worried about not having "control" of their image. I'm not quite sure I understand that statement because we all know that these companies have great reputations and "images". But I guess they have no real concern about the money anyway, eh?
