Nike Helps Create a Sporty Hijab

I love it when companies think about the community and become nike hijab.jpginvolved globally in humanitarian efforts.  It's one thing to make money, but it's another thing to make money and give back to the community.

Take Nike - they're working with the United Nations to provide young refugee women in Kenya uniforms in the fashion of hijabs so that they can play volleyball more comfortably.  The hijab is the traditional dress of muslim women that covers their head and is draped over their bodies.

Nike sent designers to Dadaab, Kenya to help the girls with the design of the volleyball uniform.  The designers are showing them how to sew the outfits themselves.  Nike will be donating material to make several hundred uniforms.

» A Fashion Niche in the Muslim World from TheRunwayScoop
Al Quds has designed a new line of jeans which it claims to make it more comfortable for Muslims to pray.  They're high on the waist, wide around the leg, and have many pockets.  The jeans are manufactured at a... [Read More]

Hello!
I read an article about Nike designed a sporty veil for muslim women. Im a bit joyless, 'cause i have a sporty vail, from 2003. Cause i study in the Hungaryan Academy of Fine Art, (at the moment im in Holland with Erasmus: Art Academy Maastricht) and my degree project is a hijab collection, with different massages on different vails.I thougt is good to know. My website comming soon, with my others vails, i will send the URL. Or, if you ar interest i can send some pictures. I hope that you care about this!!! Maybe, my collection can be interesting as well. (ex: demonstration against the franch rules, (forbidden to wearing the religious signs), reaction to war in Iraq, Koran details on it....ect.)

My basic idea:

Sport shador

It is astonishing to see even in Saudi Arabia thet women dressed in veils teke
off there clothes if they go to fitness halls and stert to imitate
working out or
those populer practises. Those women who confort work out machines
for the firs
time try to act polite and keep there clothes on. But some of them
realized that
gym bikes would peck their outfit into gym dresses, but they are
still separeted
from men. In islamic countries women dress in velis because they don't want to
attract any attention. But what if women living in a different non-islamic
countries want to sty relligious. If they wear their black veils
evrybody would
listen to them and they are in contradiction with their religion.
Remarkeble how
islamic women try to be one with the posse on the street in foreign contries.
Instaed of heavy and black veils they wear veils made of silk and a
long coat (in
summer and in winter as well). More or less it works in the street
actually. But
what if they do want do some gym? Non islamic countries don't have
any gym halls
only for women, so they need to make a compromise. That's why I
created the sport
veil for them. It's proper for training because the dress has all properties a
sport dresshas to have. It's made of comfortable cotton goods. It
is flexible, it
has no veil bit hoody. It convers the whole surface of body, even the face if
wished.
