As U.S. fashion houses seek to expand in the Asian market, especially in China, alliances are being formed to help grow trade exports in the region. China is seeking to propose an apparel federation. The leader in apparel exporting, this country currently exports over $400 billion worth of apparel around the world.
A meeting will be held next Tuesday in Beijing where the proposal will be considered and experts and representatives from other exporting countries will join. The pros and cons of creating such a federation will be discussed.
Creating an apparel federation in Asia will help solidify trade opportunities and negotiations between countries like the U.S. I believe it's a great idea for countries in Asia to join forces. It promotes solidarity instead of competition.
