The new wave of media is starting to make a crash in the fashion
industry. An example of this is ElleGirl's plan to cease production after the June/July issue. The publishers are setting sights on enhancing ElleGirl's online presence and focusing on web and wireless content. The ElleGirl website will be redesigned where ring tones, mobile wallpaper pages, blogging projects will be offered - basically everything that teenagers love.
Teenagers these days go online to shop, communicate, and to get information. They spend most of their time online and ElleGirl saw this as a better opportunity for them. I foresee that this strategy will be followed by other magazines as well.

Although it may give opportunity for new things, I was quite sad about this...
I for one LOVE getting my magazine fix. After I read it I cut out things I like and make collages...
I dunno...I hope this doesn't eventually become the norm... I don't mind spending 3-4 bucks on a mag, how else could I occupy myself in an airport???
