There's some good dialogue over at fashionologie about using "older" models in ad campaigns. The examples given are Stella Tennant and Kate Moss - models in their thirties. The question is posed: "Does this mean the fashion industry is starting to be safe? To stay with what works, rather than pushing ahead, evolving, finding the new?"
Hey - who said thirty-somethings were old? I happen to be one of those thirty-ish women and take a little offense to the fact that the fashion industry would think me as "old".
Yes, fresh and new is good. However, if something works for you, why change? What should change is the industry's constant use of young faces... Let's get some old and beautiful faces out there!
