Louis Vuitton has set sail for India. The company has acquired a stake
in Mumbai’s LV Trading (LVT India) and will only provide Louis Vuitton products through this venture. When I read about this, I thought, "How can people in India afford such extravagant products such as Louis Vuitton?" Are their prices lower in that part of the world?
However, as more companies invest in India and more jobs are outsourced to the country, the enonomy and consumer's incomes continue to rise. According to Andy Mukherjee of Bloomberg.com, credit card debts are also on the rise as people there also want a piece of the "good life". My hope is that they realize that living a debt free, simple life is actually much better...
