Parsons School of Design Sees Increase in Enrollment

Looks like Project Runway has certainly inspired many aspiring fashion designers out there!  An article in The New York Times says that there has been a big increase of enrollees in the fashion department of Parsons - 489 students in 2005 versus 291 back in 2001.  It has become the biggest major at the school.  Applications to Parsons have increased by more than 20 percent and Tim Gunn, the chairman of thegunn.jpg fashion department, has become a star in his own right :) Moreover, Donna Karan has agreed to underwrite a new professorship, which requires at least $2.5 million.

Parsons may prove to be one of the most famous fashion schools in the world :)
