I have dreams of visiting New York, labeled as one of the fashion
capitals of the world. I have dreams of walking into immaculate fashion houses and possibly catching a glimpse of a fashion designer.
But I don't have a dream of walking into the Prada store in SoHo where the round elevator that cost $1 million to build doesn't work and the smell of mildew permeates one of the rooms. This is what Alex Kuczynski, the "Critical Shopper" of The New York Times reported on a recent visit to the store. A place that was deemed "a grand and theatrical space" no longer has the appeal. But considering it survived a fire, I'm sure the store is still in ok shape.
Has anybody visited the store since it reopened? Share your thoughts here...
