If you're budding designer or want to start your own fashion business - how would you like to break into the industry by being featured on Oprah or Entertainment Weekly? Robert Smith of Robert Smith & Associates PR was featured in the June edition of Entrepreneur Magazine and offers some tips for getting people to start buzzing about you:
1) If you want to be discovered by Oprah's producers, pitch your product to small publications in the Chicago area. That's where many of Oprah's producers live and look for new products and ideas.
2) Determine what it is about your company that is unique and worth talking about.
3) Be ready to tell editors and producers how you'll meet the demand when sales start coming in. If you fail to live up to expectations, that will make them look bad.
Wouldn't that be great if Oprah picked you as one of her favorite things?
