I find it interesting that the rise in gas prices hasn’t affected
spending…(Oh, no…here she goes talking about gas again…isn’t this a fashion blog?) Just wait…I’m going somewhere with this :)
Well, a press release from the National Retail Federation (NRF) stated that retail industry sales rose 6.9% over last year. Meanwhile… “Clothing and clothing accessories stores sales were also strong, rising an unyielding 7.2 percent unadjusted from last April.”
So, are shoppers spending more on credit cards these days versus paying in cash? For me, that would be interesting to know. Frankly, I don’t think people should use credit to buy clothing because in the long run, that bargain you found winds up costing more after you factor in interest.
Just something to think about…

I wish I had a credit card, I want one of those Clear cards. Really, though, I don't trust myself much with them, BECAUSE of all those times I wished for one. I do have a Macy's department store card, and that works out. I mostly pay right on time! I'm so afraid that it makes me "good."
... Until I get that pre-approved letter in the mail from that Clear card.
