
According to Elizabeth Wellington, a fashion writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer, most of the trends we see nowadays have been originating in L.A.
L.A.?
Times are changing in the fashion industry because it used to be that California would be the last to see a trend. Trends used to start in the East and then head out West. Not anymore it seems!
Wellington says:
"It's hard to pinpoint when Los Angeles-based designers started representing all that's cutting-edge in the women's apparel industry. But the clamor for their could-be-casual, could-be-dressy pieces started three years ago, when low-rider jeans and lacy camisoles became the trendy outfit of choice."
