According to the The Budget Fashionista, Kathryn Finney, there seems to be some debate about whether or not the Nicole Miller line for JCPenney is up to par with the "actual" Nicole Miller clothing line. I put "actual" in quotes because Kathryn questions whether or not Nicole Miller even designs these pieces that are available at JCPenney.
I have to agree with Kathryn on this one:
"...buying a designers budget friendly line just because of the name isn't cool either. Not only do you waste money, but it puts you only slightly higher than the people wear fake Louis Vuitton bags on the shopping food chain."
However, if you REALLY do like the clothing and you're not just buying it for the name - well, that's ok.

That's not fair of The Budget Fashionista. I haven't seen the Nicole Miller for JCPenney line (and you didn't link to it!) but with the names that usually create these lower lines, people aren't crazy for the name, and they don't really have logo, anyway. But the designs have some special style, I've noticed.
It is far, far from buying a fake. The designer gets money, and it's authentic for what it is. Isn't the Budget Fashionista ON a budget? She should appreciate these things.
