It's not even fall yet and already I'm tired of seeing the new
Balenciaga line - you know the one - short skirts, tall black hats, and super high platforms. Style.com sent this video today of Kate Hudson's Vogue photo shoot wearing Balenciaga.
Yes, I love the clothes, but it's one of those collections that will have a hard time translating onto the street. Will we be seeing Balenciaga everywhere this fall? Can you see yourself wearing these outfits? If I wore those outfits here in San Diego I would probably have no problem getting attention.
The Fashionable Kiffen also shares her thoughts about Nicolas Ghesquiere's collection:
"It is also the collection that is most likely to get played out and boring before the clothes even hit the stores....
So Nicolas Ghesquiere, I do "respect your vision" and I think your latest collections have been amazing. But have some respect for the creativity of others too and let us style your designs our own way. Try seeing your work through the eyes of others, maybe it will inspire something new."

it's not about respecting the customer this time. it's about honoring the great cristobal balenciaga and all that he has brought to the fashion world. also it's called a show room. you go backstage and see what non- runway garments will be up for sale. what you see on the runway isn't all that you get, duh! nicolas used the runway as a museum for his thoughts on cristobal, not his customers feelings.
