I don't quite understand the thinking of fashion editors when they decide to put a naked
celebrity on the front of their magazine. Take, for instance, this recent issue of Bazaar with Britney Spears on the front. Ayyyy! I echo Gawker's sentiments on this one:
"Isn’t Bazaar a fashion magazine? Should it not aspire in the direction of Vogue rather than Perfect 10?"
Yes, the last time I checked Bazaar was a fashion magazine. Did it turn into Playboy overnight? I'm absolutely speechless right now and I can feel my blood pressure rising more and more at the mere sight of the picture.
Excuse me as I get on my soapbox for a moment, but this is the reason why you have sixteen-year-olds running around half naked nowadays. Fashion magazines are sending this message that yes, it's ok to take your clothes off for the sake of "fashion". Well, you could argue that she didn't exactly "bare all", but it was pretty darn close, right?
All I'm saying is that fashion magazines should stick to fashion....
