I was reading this article about Jay Z's ban on Cristal (found via Splendora). However, the main story wasn't as interesting as this stat mentioned in the story....
A survey by Agenda Inc. was done last year which ranked the number of times a brand was mentioned in a song on the Billboard Top 20 Chart. Louis Vuitton tied with Cristal for eighth place. The article didn't mention it, but I would assume Prada is probably another fashion brand that is often mentioned in songs - especially rap, hip-hop and R & B songs. I listen to hip-hop and R & B, but in my opinion, there's too much emphasis on material possessions and brand name "dropping" in rap songs and not enough focus on the real soul of the artist. Hey, but that's a discussion in another arena...
