The fashion realm is such a subjective industry. What may be "in" in Hollywood may not necessarily be "in" in Korea. Your sense of style is different from 80-95% of the planet. However, we continue to make judgments about what other people wear.![]()
As I sat in Borders writing today I saw someone wearing overalls and I caught myself thinking, "Oh, those were out seven years ago!" Shame on me...
With that said, I came across this article titled Good and bad fashion trends compete in 2006 where the author says this:
"Other styles unfortunately came to life in 2006, including baby doll tops. While cute on the rack, these should be excluded to the maternity section. All we can think when we see a girl sporting this look is, 'When is she due?'"
Hmpf. I happen to have a baby doll top that I think is very cute, thank you very much!
We all do it on some type of level - judge others' appearances or fashion choices, but I think it's more so a female thing. Awhile back I discussed a similar issue at my other blog, Beauty Is Within.
Is this a case where we criticize others in order to feel good about ourselves?
