It's been a few months since I've started blogging here and I've "met" some very intelligent, creative, and thought-provoking bloggers who share this same passion of fashion with me. As the blogosphere grows, it's going to get harder and harder to wade through all the junk and find all the true writers - the ones who truly want to make a difference in the minds of the readers and who will simply tell it like it is.
I've read somewhere that many people start blogs purely for the money-making aspect of it with no thoughts of the future and no ideas on how to create an impact in the fashion industry. As I go from fashion blog to fashion blog, it seems that they're all saying the same thing... Only few are taking risks and everybody else just wants to be like the other.
Do I want to make a difference? Of course. I wouldn't be here if I didn't.
Pretty soon we'll be seeing some of these fashion bloggers dropping off. The ashes of their fashion blogs drifting up to Blog Heaven. It is those who really and truly have a passion for writing and want to revolutionize the way fashion is portrayed in the media that will thrive.
What side are you on?

For my first many months, all of the blogs in our cozy niche stayed alive and seemed to thrive (excuse my rhyme). That was unusual for my past web hobby in a teen-saturated area. Just over the last few months, some blogs have stopped being run. It's sad, but I sort of wondered if it could all last for everyone.
I want ours to be a happy and welcoming place, but people move on.
Anyway, I haven't ever tried to affect the big time media with my blog(s). In years, if I get super huge, I definitely will have it in my mind to challenge the status quo for my personal beliefs (of more flattering clothes for different body types). I do my own thing, though, and just flow in the style that I love at the moment. I keep it true to my passion.
