Harrods Girl of I Am Fashion asks if we're "recreational shoppers", meaning do we shop for fun... She sites an interesting statistic that states that the highest percentage of recreational shoppers are in Asia-Pacific. That's pretty interesting as I would have thought that the U.S. would be #1.
As for me, I think I'm somewhere in between, although I probably lean towards more the "non-recreational" type. I usually shop when I need something.
I think it's true that when you live in a big city, you tend to do more recreational shopping. When I went to college in a small town up in Northern California I didn't do much shopping on my off days. Now I live in a fairly big city with tons and tons of cute boutiques. However, I don't have much free time to just go shopping...

Does the Asian-Pacific area include the Hawaiian islands? I know there is great shopping in all of Hawaii, particularly on my favorite island, Maui, at the Kapalua Resort -- great shops!
