I read this headline in a news article at fibre2fashion.com: "Polo shirts gain popularity in China". The article was very short and stated that since the beginning of the FIFA World Cup there has been an increase in the sale of polo shirts with the name of futbol players on them.
Ok, so polo shirts are now popular in China....now what? When you read that a particular item is now "very popular", does it make you want to go out and buy one for yourself? Suprisingly, most people do.
Yesterday a customer of mine was looking at the cell phone charms I made and I caught myself saying, "They're very popular in Japan!" Funny what you'll say to make a sale!
