In the fashion industry we're surrounded by all these material goods. Some people may have more than us and often times this produces a feeling of emptiness in us. That little green bug called envy starts to creep up in our blood and we think, "Damn those girls for having all that stuff!" This was my exact thought as I read the "Exquisite Hermes Bags" post over at The Purse Blog. However, the thought was immediately replaced with, "I will have one of those bags someday!" That is part of my ongoing effort to feel 100% good about myself and be grateful for what I do have.
Unfortunately, we live in a society that pushes us to have everything and leads us to believe that if we don't, we are nothing. I'm not saying that it's bad to want these glamorous things, but if you want these things because it'll make you feel "complete" or you want it because you want to "fit in", I recommend reading my other blog, Beauty is Within...
Amen. I'm currently coveting some Marc Jacobs styles from the last few previous seasons. It kind of drives me crazy that these things are so expensive.
I'll feel better when my more practical COACH finally comes in the mail. Oh, my god, I think it will never come!!!
