In an effort to find out what consumers are buying nowadays, Hearst
Magazines is sponsoring an event and marketing program called "30 Days of Fashion" where fashion shows, parties, trunk shows, and other similar events will take place in New York during the month of September. Magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Cosmo Girl, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, O, The Oprah Magazine, Seventeen, Shop Etc., and Town & Country will participate in the event. A website will also be launched which will feature blogs, podcasts, tips, and more.
"This is the way the market is moving. The reader wants to be in touch with our brands in lots of different ways to keep the reader excited and engaged; we have to do projects that involve them off the printed page," says Michael A. Clinton, the executive vice president at Hearst Magazines. Not to mention, that they'll be making millions of dollars in ad revenue from this event!
