I strongly believe that the leaders of a company indirectly
affect sales by their actions and the decisions they make. Of course, top executives are not in front of the customers every day, so there's a major disconnect between the leaders of a company and their customers. But certainly they must have a passion, motivation, and drive to want to know what customers want from their company. Perhaps this is why Jenny Ming is leaving Old Navy and Gap Inc.
"Now the time is right for me personally, and for the brand, to make a change," she said.1
And yes, indeed, that is what the whole Gap conglomerate needs - a major change.
