This is just my humble opinion, but when a company has a poor
marketing or advertising strategy then it most likely will not succeed in business, right? So when I read about Charlotte Russe selling their Rampage Stores to Forever 21, I thought - Well, it was due time. Rampage is a long ago brand that didn't seem to move forward in terms of creating a presence in the fashion industry. When was the last time you heard about Rampage? I don't think I've seen one piece of advertising in any fashion magazine in quite some time. If you do a Google Blogsearch on "Rampage Clothing", you'll get about 3,500 posts about the company. Now do a search for "Guess Clothing" and you get over 200,000 posts!
By no means am I a marketing or branding expert, but perhaps the company should have been just a little more agressive in their marketing campaign. Perhaps an ad on MySpace may have helped being that so many young fashionistas roam The Space?
