The fashion blogosphere is growing everyday and those of us who once thought of blogging as "just a hobby" has turned it into a full time gig. I would really like to Thank God for the "hunters" of fashion blogging. Hunters is the term I use for those bloggers who scour the net looking for bargains so that they can share with us "gatherers" who don't want to deal with or don't have the time to browse the web for goodies.
One of these hunters is Margaret Mason. I just found out about her blog, Mighty Goods, via this article (hat tip to Easton). She loves to post about everything fun from fashion to home decor. You can also find her at Mighty Girl, her personal blog. Mason says, "I thought it’d be cool to find a place where I could put all this stuff I was finding on the Web and have people click through and own it easypeasy. Collecting it all in one place also satisfied my own acquisition instinct. It’s a way to tell a bunch of people about something you’ve found that intrigues or touches you. It’s an accumulation of my tastes."
Another "hunter" blog is SheFinds which I've probably mentioned here before. This blog has a few contributors with several postings each day. You're sure to always find some good sale at SheFinds.
If you're thinking about starting a fashion blog and want to make money with it, check out the above mentioned blogs for ideas. This is how they make money:
1) Build a readership and offer advertising on the blog. If you have an established blog with a good amount of traffic, you should have no problem attracting advertisers who will pay you to have their ad on your blog.
2) Join affiliate programs and offer products from companies who will give you a commission if someone clicks on the link from your blog. You can find companies to affiliate with at Commission Junction, Linkshare, or even Amazon.
