Manolo the Shoeblogger points out this story about 100 Russian women who ran a 100 meter race in high heels for $5,000. I know I can barely walk in some high-heeled shoes let alone run in them!
This brings to mind the history of the high heel. Who could invent such a thing that causes so much pain for women?
According to Wikipedia, Leonardo Da Vinci could be the inventor of the modern-day high heel, but before that horseman had "rider's heels", similar to the style of cowboy boots. It's also interesting that French men wore heels back in the day - only if you were royalty, that is.
Hmmm...I do wonder which high heel shoes are most comfortable to run in....

hey! I'm so used to wearing high heels particularly stilettos, that I can run in them provided they don't break. I'm so used to walking and running in heels that I find it uncomfortable to wear flat shoes.
