Thanks to < 3 Life < 3 Style for hosting this week’s Carnivale....
Well, I know that probably every women in America - and other countries that follow Western fashion - have a fashion no-no that involved a pair of shoes. Now this story is not going to be your typical “I wore 4 inch heels all day trekking through the city”. This story is quite contrary in that I was wearing flats - flats that I adored...
I was in Vegas last February for a three day real estate investing conference. I decided to ditch the conference on the last day and went walking along the strip to do some sightseeing. I was wearing a pair of black leather BCBG mules (think ballet flats without the back) which I thought were going to be comfortable walking shoes. These particular shoes had no tracking on the bottom and were quite slippery. I knew this but continued to wear these shoes anyways because they were just too undeniably cute. Never mind that they were dangerous and I had almost slipped a dozen times wearing them....
Walking down the steps of Caesar’s Palace I was in awe of the bright lights and the crowds of people. The city was packed as there were many conferences going on that week. Next thing you know I slipped on one of the steps and fell smack on my behind. At the time it was happening I felt like I was in one of those movies when they show things in slow motion. People turned and stared. I felt like Ashlee Simpson the night she was on Saturday Night Live and “goofed” during her performance in front of all those people. I burst in laughter to hide my embarrassment.
The shoes have now made their way to Shoe Heaven.
