I think in the U.S. most of us have a very narrow perspective when it comes to fashion. We look to the big fashion capitals such as New York and Paris and that’s it. Here at The Runway Scoop I look to venture out “into the world”, so to speak, and see what other cultures offer in regards to fashion. Who knows, the next big thing could come from a place like Copenhagen who just recently had “the biggest fashion fair in Europe”. The fair has been going on for 13 years now and this year it reported having a record number of buyers.
The Vanity Affair seems to know quite a bit more than I do when it comes to Danish design:
“It’s actually an economic strategy on their part by choosing not to follow the footsteps of fashion cities in Europe but to try be different– well be different just a bit. Denmark has actually decided to carve a fashion niche that caters to a wider audience and prospective clients such as Japan and South Africa. Now this strategy had been implemented since 1998 and proved very lucrative as it surpassed the flagship furniture business of the country. “
Also, Diane, A Shaded View on Fashion recently went to Copenhagen and shares with us some very interesting pictures ;)

Hi there,
Thanks for quoting me but I would like to make a small correction on the name of my site. It's The Vanity Affair, not The Vanity Fair. I am in no way associated with the magazine, Vanity Fair. :)
