Hilary Alexander of Telegraph.co.uk lets us in on the scoop about the designers chosen to receive sponsorship under the New Generation Scheme for London Fashion Week which will take place next month. Three designers are receiving support for the very first time: Todd Lynn, Clare Tough, and Christopher Kane.
Todd Lynn is a menswear designer who has been dubbed as "Rock and Roll's best kept secret". He has designed clothing for musical artists such as Mick Jagger, U2's Bono and Adam Clayton, Keith Edwards, and Marilyn Manson, just to name a few. ![]()
Clare Tough graduated from Central St. Martins a couple years ago. Her designs are unique in that she combines knit, crochet, and other textures together into comfortable, yet very distinctive pieces. (pictured here) You can check out her collections at Browns and Liberty in London, Stig-p in Denmark, Espace Mirage in Monaco, plus other international boutiques.
Christopher Kane also graduated from the prestigious Central St Martins MA Fashion course and has caught the eye of Donatella Versace. The fashion house will be supporting him during LFW by providing his fabrics and materials. There's no doubt that a collaboration between Kane and Versace is brewing ;)
London Fashion Week will take place September 18 -22 at the Natural History Museum in London, SW7.
