There seems to be a range of opinions about this issue of Julie “ambushing” Anna Wintour. Many in support of Julie and how she is handling this brush of “cattiness”. Others making a point to say that Julie displayed “bad behavior” in her approach on getting the interview with Ms. Wintour.
Fashiontribes says that this is “a case of having breached established etiquette - whether intentional or not - without thinking about the consequences and how it reflects on the way bloggers are perceived by the industry...”
“Established etiquette” or not, have people missed what Julie said?
I secured the interview in good faith and in the most humble fashion. I had asked Anna for an interview earlier in the week and she had said that later in the week she would be giving interviews. When I approached her this particular time I did so deferentially and without my camera to insure that I did not make her uncomfortable. If I had felt for a moment that Ms Wintour did not want to be interviewed or was uncomfortable with my presence I would not have done it.
I had been encouraged to secure the interview by a friend and editor at Fashion Wire Daily who told me that she often gets quotes from Wintour and that it was fully in my right to ask quietly for an interview...."

If I was to be called a “renegade blogger”, so be it. Rebelliousness is in my nature. People can talk smack all day every day and that's not going to stop me from doing what my "gut" tells me to do. There needs to be a revolution in fashion anyways and I thank God for Julie for being the person to start it. I’m tired of people and their rules and how things are supposed to be done. I’m also tired of how people think you can’t just approach a person because they’re a “celebrity” or this high and mighty person in fashion. I completely agree with Fountain of Fashion:
“Anna Wintour is a grown woman and she knows how to say "No" just like I do, which actually she said to Julie on an earlier occasion, if I recall correctly. Could it be that Anna remembered her and perhaps didn't mind giving an interview? Is that just not possible? Anna Wintour is but a woman.”
By the way...the author of the MSNBC article mentioned in my previous post offers her apology via comments at Julie’s blog...

I'm sick of seeing curvy celebraties getting praised, and skinny celebraties getting bashed because it's "affecting young girl's body images". I think, if everyone would just eat normally, and stop worrying about women's bodies entirely, we would'nt have as many problems as far as eating disorders.
