I’m sitting here in the Borders bookstore in downtown San Diego staring at the fashion magazines.  Famous celebrities are staring back at me...all in a row, inviting me to pick up the magazine that they’re representing.  But my eyes glaze over and I’m thinking to myself, When are they going to come up with something different for a front cover?  Why must there always be a model or celebrity on the front cover?  It’s a fashion magazine, right?  Why not show...ummmm...fashion?  The only magazine that stands out is the Spiegel catalog because they show a woman from head to toe in fashion.  All the other magazines basically have headshots of or chest-and-up photos of women.  Fashion Magazines.jpg

I agree with you. Every month the covers of these magazines look the same and read the same. Everyone is skinny and pretty. I think if they even just did a "purse" issue with all kinds of bags on the cover, that would even be a simple break.

Yes! That's exactly what I was thinking! Why not actually use apparel or accessories for a cover? It wouldn't hurt to try it out...
