I wasn’t able to make it to the ribbon cutting event, but I did get a preview last Thursday as the ever so kind Kelly Lynch of Brand Building Public Relations gave me a tour of the store. Walking into the store I could sense that this was a place that felt like home - spacious, yet cozy. It felt like I had just stepped into a highly organized closet fit for a princess. I was excited about seeing the clothing, but even more excited to see the dressing salon that I read about on the Forth & Towne website. The salon stands in the middle and is basically the heart and soul of the store. Each dressing room is uniquely decorated with a three way mirror and the best part - lighting that adjusts to whatever mood you’re in that day. Forth & Towne caters to the 35 and older woman who wants to look current and fashionable. One of the things I like most about the Forth & Towne concept is that they carry sizes 2 - 20. I know many women over a size 12 who complain that they can’t find fashionable pieces that fit them, but Forth & Towne is the answer to that problem. Moreover, practically all the pieces can be taken from casual to dressy or vice versa.
The store is set up into distinct collections and encompasses every aspect of the life of the modern, mature woman. You can shop in this store and find everything from casual wear to office wear to dressy attire. Check out the video about the different collections here.
For those of you regular readers, you know my love for accessories - especially handbags and ballet shoes, so here I share with you a picture of some of my favorite pieces.
Austyn Zung, the Executive Vice President of Design, says, “When I think of icons of style that inspire me the most, they are all women over 40. Younger women will look to Forth & Towne as a symbol of grown-up chic. Getting older truly means getting more chic and fantastic.” Perhaps Forth & Towne will inspire all young women to dress more like ladies now ;)
Forth & Towne is owned by Gap, Inc. (GPS) and is the fourth retail brand for the company. The brand made its debut in August 2005 and has expanded to 19 stores. Read more about my thoughts on Forth & Towne and the company’s customer service philosophy here.
Later today I'll have more pictures of my adventure in Forth & Towne at my other blog, Beauty is Within.
