
Millard Drexler, the CEO of J. Crew, delivered a speech to attendees of the National Retail Federation in New York. He offers his thoughts on the current state of American fashion:![]()
"I have a few issues about where our business is going. American fashion is not doing what we need to do. Our industry doesn't inspire customers today."
Drexler doesn’t believe that low-priced, trendy clothing can compete with high quality clothing. If a company is simply listening to the needs and wants of its customers then there should be no problem making sales. (Are you listening, Gap?)
