As we all know that when it comes to fashion, one minute you’re in and the next minute you’re out. Perhaps that’s why I love the industry so much - it’s always changing and moving forward...or uh, backward.
So what will continue on into 2007 and what will we kiss goodbye? Robin Givhan offers her thoughts on what will stay on our minds:
- The skinny model debate will still continue. So far Madrid is the only country that has actually taken steps to improve the issue. Who’s next?
- The Dove marketing campaign is still being talked about - especially in the blogosphere.
- New creative fashion designers will take center stage
- Tom Ford will continue to grow his brand and Prada will continue to play around with going public - public ownership, that is.
Even though celebrities will still continue to start clothing lines and be featured on the front covers of fashion magazines, I do think that in 2007 we will begin to see a comeback of the supermodel. Or perhaps we’ll see a fresh, new face...
