Fashion Industry discussion, review, analysis, news, and information

It was a rainy day here in San Diego, so I threw on some sweats and headed to the nearest Borders bookstore to enjoy a warm drink and browse magazines.  I came across Selvedge Magazine, a London-based magazine that focuses on the textile industry.  The magazine is full of information and I loved learning all about the other different industries that textiles are a part of - especially fashion and interior design. 

I thought I’d share some resources and happenings I came across in my readings:

• Isleofmullweavers.com - this is the website of Britain’s first organic tweed manufacturer
• Textileforum.co.uk - textile convention that takes place in London on March 14 & 15, 2007
• Crafty Computer Paper - print graphics on cotton inkjet fabric sheets to use for quilts, tote bags, clothes, dolls’ clothes...etc.
• Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery 2007 - embroidery competition for students; winner gets $10,000 USD in prize money and other prizes from sponsors
