Back in the day when I was “single and looking” I used to judge a man by the shoes he wore.  My best friend and I would scan the floor in the clubs and look for guys wearing “nice kicks” and when we spotted them, it was then that we would look up to see the face.  In retrospect, it was a crazy way to look for men, but we felt that the shoes they wore told us a great deal about them.  

Perhaps others may feel the same way and that’s why the shoe industry - especially the sneaker industry - has always flourished.  Having a cool pair of sneaks is a status symbol.

I came across this news article about sneaker collectors - you know the ones who camp out hours before a shoe is released - and how sneakers have always been part of urban culture.  I think back to a video from Coutorture that was filmed last year during the ARI Menthol 10 sneaker release....
