An article published over at the
Chicago Sun-Times says that there is talk about
Sears Holding (
SHLD) purchasing
Gap. Sears has been holding onto a bit of cash which makes analysts speculate about a possible acquisition. As key executives leave Gap, there is going to be some major reshuffling within the company and if Sears takes over, we’ll definitely see some changes.

Is the purchase a good idea? I’m curious to see what ideas Sears executives have for Gap if indeed they plan to make a purchase. How do you go about improving a brand like Gap anyways? Perhaps this may be a time to do a little rebranding like I talked about earlier this week?
