As I watched The Notebook
last night, I realized why I and thousands of other
fashionistas love the Marc Jacobs Fall 2007/08 collection so much. It’s reminiscent of a time when a woman was a “lady”. It’s something we’re craving right now in the fashion world. Women want to be taken seriously again, dammit. They want to be called ladies - at least most of us do. We want something that we can actually wear. Not that I don’t love what many of the designers exhibited during New York Fashion Week, but I want something that I can literally take off the models body and wear right now.
Like Adrian of Fashion Verbatim said, “...if Marc Jacobs' fall collection wasn't manifested brilliance, then strip me of my Lanvin and sell my Dior Hommes.”
By the way, if you haven’t seen The Notebook, I highly recommend it! One of the greatest love stories with fabulous fashion!
