As a business person who communicates via blogs more often than anything, I often forget that there are still other modes by which to contact my jewelry customers.  Back in the dinosaur days of the internet a business owner would send mass email to her customers, but with spam blocking and all that, sometimes the email would end up somewhere in a trash folder. 

With the advent of blogs, it’s much easier to let your customers know what’s going on with your company.  However, not everyone has caught onto this concept of blogging and many people still don’t know what RSS feeds are.  By the way, Back in Skinny Jeans has a great explanation on what RSS is.  [Oh, and after you learn how to subscribe to feeds, don’t forget to subscribe to this blog’s feed!  Thanks!]

So, until RSS becomes as popular as MTV, don’t forget that people still like to be contacted by email.  Retailers like Neiman Marcus and Saks still contact their customers via email on a daily basis.  Read more about it over at emailINSIDER.
