When I was in junior high my father went to Korea for a trip and came back with a box full of Reeboks. Many Reeboks are made in Korea, so he was able to get a good deal on them. My closet was full of different colored high-top Reeboks and of course, I wore them with two pairs of colored socks. That’s all I’ve known Seoul, Korea for - their cheap athletic shoes. However, that may change now that I’ve learned that the government of Korea has plans to make Seoul one of the top five
cities for fashion. The city is building a “Design World Plaza”, a six story building that will include an exhibition hall, a museum, and a showroom.
It will be interesting to see if a city in Asia can rise in the fashion world. India has done it in South Asia and Japan is making strides, but Korea?
