Standing there in my three inch heels, I hovered in front of the Marc Jacobs display hoping someone would walk by and show some interest.  After all, a Marc Jacobs handbag sale or any handbag sale over $1,000 would bring in some good commission.  So, I stood there, prayed, and calculated how much in sales I needed that month to cover my rent. 

Finally!  A girl asked to see one of the Marc Jacobs purses and I gleefully grabbed the keys to open the case.  It took her five minutes to decide that she wanted it.  As we walked to the register I could see the envy oozing from the other salesgirls and felt the burn of their stares.  

Ah, the tribulations of working in the Nordstrom handbag department.  Was it worth the paycheck?  Not really.  Competition was fierce and the claws came out every day.  The money was good, but peace is better.  Now I enjoy just reading purse blogs.  *sigh*
