Desperate For Money

This is an example of how desperate old media is when it comes to getting advertisers....

A man conned a Swiss media company to publish a two page Gucci ad he created himself.  Perhaps this is his way of getting the attention of Gucci, but either way I have to give him props for doing something as bold as this.  gucci.jpg

My question is - why would a publisher print an ad without receiving payment first?  I can see if Gucci and the media company already had an established relationship - and maybe they did (this article didn’t state).  With an offer like $50,000 I guess it may be hard to turn down.
