In response to my post about the D&G ad, D.E. over at Kiss Me Stace poses her perspective. I can see that it could be some sick, twisted sex game, but what gets me is this “standard” that D.E. mentions. She says:
“I think the ad is actually so standard in our society that I wonder why I’m explaining my views. Hmm. Am I wrong?”
It’s not that D.E. Is wrong, it’s this "standard" that is absolutely wrong. Our society has come to accept that sex in ads is ok - it’s standard - that’s just the way it is. Sure, some of you may think I’m a prude or whatever, but tell me this...Would you want your kids to see these ads? Would you let them partake in this type of modeling or behavior?
Now that sex is ok - so what’s next? Will fashion ads depicting people killing each other be ok in the future?
Pictured here is another D & G ad that I find to be very interesting...What's up with the guy in his undies?
