Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work as an intern for a big-wig fashion magazine? Think that The Devil Wears Prada wasn’t in touch with the “real” world of fashion? Read Julie’s post over at Almost Girl. ![]()
After reading this I realized that this isn’t something that happens only in the fashion industry - it happens in many corporate environments that are dominated by money/control-hungry egos. If you think you have to work 15 hours just to get anywhere in life or “pay your dues“, you are so wrong. That’s the mentality of the corporate world. However, this may be ok for some people. Perhaps they live off stress and fear (why someone would is beyond me!) What’s so wrong about simply asking to go on a photo shoot? Why does the fashion world have so many “unwritten” rules and protocol? I say, if you want something, you ask…you go after what you want.
Have an intern story to share?
