Then today I came across this article which says that Wal-Mart still hasn’t seen much of a difference in sales since launching their latest fashion campaign. Well, you can’t just bring in new merchandise without creating a compelling visual display - something that makes a fashionista stop dead in her tracks. On a somewhat related note, you may want to check out the interesting thread over at StyleBites regarding WalMart and their advertisements in Vogue. I think what we have to remember is that all types of women read Vogue - whether you’re a multimillionaire or a student with a $100 clothing budget.
Also, Laura Ries of The Origin of Brands Blog says this in regards to Walmart’s focus on fashion: “...I am shocked to see them still beating that dead horse.”
