The other day my friend and I were talking about weddings and how costly they can be. We both agreed that it was too much to ask a bride’s maid to fork over all that cash for a dress, a gift, a party, etc. I know I have a couple expensive dresses sitting in the closet that are just collecting dust. Who made it a requirement for bride’s maids to pay for their own dress anyways? Oh, but I digress…
Well, if you have a friend who’s getting married soon, you may want to hint to her that Isaac Mizrahi just launched a wedding collection for Target. Yes, Target - can you believe it? My first thought was full of skepticism. How could you make a cheap wedding dress and is it even possible? I browsed through some of the bridal dresses and saw that they were nice, but really basic. Definitely not something for the very picky bride who likes a lot of details. However, realizing that so much financial stress is put on the bride and groom, I’ve decided that an affordable collection can’t be so bad after all.
This is what Mizrahi says about his new collection:
“My bridal gowns are all reinventions of the classics, providing an affordable alternative for women everywhere. I put a lot of design energy into designing this collection for Target because every bride deserves to find the gown of her dreams, regardless of her budget. Every woman remembers how she felt on her wedding day for the rest of her life, so ensuring she feels confident in the ‘perfect’ dress is very important to me.”
Amen to that ;)

I think this is great and I'm definitely considering buying from Target. I love the classic look (I hate poofy wedding dresses with beads and rhinestones). Plus, these dresses are returnable unlike what you'd find in most bridal stores. Go target!
