A designer who I’ve been keeping an eye on lately is London-based Jonathan Saunders. Saunders takes a minimalist approach to fashion and incorporates his background in art into his designs. I especially like his Fall 2007 collection -- which is characterized by a mix of black, white and big, bold color. I get a sense of the familiar (perhaps it’s the 60s & 80s?) mixed with a more contemporary and
modernistic flair. However you describe it, it's definitely fashion forward yet completely wearable.
One of my favorite looks from the collection is this ensemble pictured here. It’s almost as if we could literally take off the outfit and stretch it across a canvas and voila! You have a piece of art to hang. I love it!
